Announcing

A MOVING EXPERIENCE MARATHON JAZZ PARTY TO BENEFIT THE RELOCATION OF THE LOS ANGELES JAZZ INSTITUTE

December 13, 2009
at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott
5855 West Century Blvd.,
Los Angeles, CA

Featuring three rooms of continuous music from 11:00AM-11:00PM plus
raffles, silent auctions, door prizes,
jazz CD vendors and lots more.

We recently found out that we must move the Los Angeles Jazz Institute from CSULB and we must be out by the end of the year.

In our ten years of existence we've built an important jazz organization with the centerpiece being a huge jazz archive that includes 130,000 records, thousands of CDs, books, tapes, magazines, music, films and numerous musician collections. The archive is a major resource for the jazz world and enables us to produce the yearly jazz events as well as all of our other projects. Moving all of this is a huge job and will cost in the neighborhood of $20,000 for movers and packing materials.

We are trying to raise the necessary funds to make this move happen.

We have asked many musicians to donate their services and participate in this day long series of concerts and the response from the artists has been overwhelming. The following groups/artists have all agreed to perform:

Bill Holman Band

Carl Saunders Be Bop Big Band

The Cannonball/Coltrane Project

Tall and Small-
Pete Christlieb/Linda Small

Steve Huffsteter Big Band

Gary Urwin Jazz Orchestra
featuring Bill Watrous

Kim Richmond Concert Jazz Orchestra

. . . and more

Now that the musicians have committed their support we need your support as well.

We have set two specific donation levels
to attend this special event:

The $150 Platinum level gives you
priority seating and full buffet dinner.

The $75 Gold Circle level provides
open theater style seating.

Both ticket levels give you
full access to all venues.

Even if you are outside the Los Angeles area and can't attend the event we still need your financial support at this critical time and would be happy to receive donations of any amount to support this effort.

Don't forget that the L.A. Jazz Institute
is a non-profit organization and your
donation is tax deductible.

To reserve your seats or make a donation please call (562) 985-7065
